The Grundy County Health Department has scheduled a walk-in flu vaccination clinic for children from 6 months to 18 years old, according to a press release from the department.
The clinic will be from 3:15 to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Grundy County Administration Building, 1320 Union St., Morris. No appointments are necessary. Call 815-941-3419 with any questions.
The Illinois Department of Public Health’s Vaccine for Children program will provide the vaccine for kids at least 6 months old and up to 18 who meet the requirements: They must reside in Grundy County, be an American Indian or Alaskan native, have been enrolled in Medicaid or do not have health insurance that covers the cost of vaccines. People who have insurance that pays for immunizations are not eligible.
A $20 donation is requested to get the vaccine but children will not be turned away because of inability to pay. Cash and checks will be accepted, but no debit or credit cards.
