JOLIET — A city resident was arrested Tuesday by Will County sheriff’s police in the killing last year of his business partner outside the boxing gym they owned, police said.
Kenneth G. Edwards, 45, of 114 Zurich Road, is charged with three counts of murder and one count of armed robbery. He is being held on $5 million bail.
On Aug. 9, 2012, Sean D. McGinn, 39, arrived at the KO Zone Boxing Club, 218 E. Cass St., to buy cocaine from his business partner, Jermain Bennett, according to police.
They said the supposed sale was a setup, and Edwards shot McGinn in the parking lot while Bennett took a large amount of cash from McGinn’s vehicle.
Bennett was arrested the day after the slaying on charges of murder and drug conspiracy.
