Police in New Lenox are hosting the department’s fifth annual coat drive from now through the end of the month.
The police department’s “Cops Care” coat drive has been running every year since 2009 and has collected more than 8,000 coats for people living in the Lincoln Way area, according to a press release.
The coat drive runs through Oct. 31.
Drop off points are:
Chamber of Commerce, lower level of the New Lenox Village Hall, 1 Veterans Parkway,
New Lenox Police Department, 701 W. Haven Ave.
New Lenox Fire Protection District, Fire Station one, 261 E. Maple.
New Lenox Park District, 1 Manor Drive.
The Morning Star Treasure Chest II, 2571 East Lincoln Highway New Lenox, will provide coats to people with vouchers, which can be obtained at the police department, New Lenox School District 122’s administrative office and the New Lenox Township building.
Fundraiser scheduled for Addams band
A fundraiser for the Jane Addams Middle School’s Band Boosters is scheduled for Monday at Home Run Inn of Bolingbrook.
The restaurant will donate 20 percent of all eligible purchases between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. to the band boosters. Customers need a flier or mention the Addams Band Boosters to be eligible.
The restaurant is at 1280 Boughton Road, Bolingbrook.
