SHOREWOOD — No one was injured when an allegedly drunken driver crashed into a house early Saturday.
Police Chief Aaron Klima said that about 3:30 a.m. a black sedan heading south on Shorewood Drive kept going past the T-intersection at Ridge Road.
“He crashed through a fence, drove through a back yard and went a few feet into the back of a house on Birch Drive,” Klima said.
Two adults and two children were inside the house but were not injured.
The structure in the 400 block of Birch was declared uninhabitable and the family was taken to a local motel, Troy Fire Capt. Ed Vandrush said. The car was totaled in the collision.
Arrest documentation was not available for review Saturday but Klima said the driver was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving and released on bond.
