A number of activities are planned from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday as part of the Discovery Day at Arroyo Trails, Route 6 and Silverleaf Drive, Channahon.
Among other things, there is a scavenger hunt planned as well as a chance for people to see snakes and turtles. There also will be a chance to make a bird feeder.
The Will County Humane Society is hosting a Halloween Party from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the shelter, 24109 W. Seil Road, Shorewood.
There will be raffles, a bake sale, brats and hot dogs, a Troy District Fire Department fire truck, and costume contests for kids and pets at 2 p.m.

Honors testing planned
Joliet Township High School will have honors placement testing at the West and Central campuses for interested eighth graders.
Testing at Joliet Central is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday. Students should report to Central campus between 7:45 and 8 a.m. at the D-door entrance on Herkimer Street. Students will not be admitted once the test starts.
Testing at West campus is set for 8 a.m. Nov. 2. Students need to arrive between 7:45 and 8 a.m. at the cafeteria entrance on Glenwood Avenue.
