Joliet, Bolingbrook get sustainability awards

The city of Joliet and village of Bolingbrook were among 27 Illinois organizations that received Governor’s Sustainability Awards this week.
Four other local organizations also were recognized by the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center, which presents the awards for achievements in environmental protection and economic growth.
Honorable Mention recognition was given to Will County, Argonne National Laboratory and CCI Manufacturing in Lemont. Lewis University in Romeoville was recognized as a Silver Institution for its commitment to green operations.
The Illinois Sustainable Technology Center is a unit of the Prairie Research Institute at the University of Illinois. The awards were presented Tuesday at a ceremony in Peoria.
