Eucharistic Procession travels through downtown Minooka

MINOOKA — The Rev. Mark A. Fracaro, pastor of St. Mary Church in Minooka, lead people from the parish in a Eucharistic Procession on June 26 in downtown Minooka.

“During the year of the Eucharist we had a number of special prayers and experiences,” Fracaro said. “The procession was the culmination of it all. The number and variety of people who walked through town singing, praying and listening to Scriptures was truly inspiring to me.”

The celebration was preceded by a Mass. An ice cream social provided by ladies of the Council of Catholic Women followed the procession.

Morris Hospital and Healthcare Centers awarded accreditation

MORRIS — The Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program has awarded Morris Hospital and Healthcare Centers full accreditation based on results of an extensive and objective onsite review that took place in February.

The accreditation is an indication that Morris Hospital and its Radiation Therapy Center, Diagnostic and Rehabilitative Center, Ridge Road Campus, and Healthcare Centers provide quality and safe care for patients.

During the three day, unannounced survey, three HFAP surveyors conducted an intense review of policies and practices to verify Morris Hospital and Healthcare Centers’ compliance with the approximately 1,000 standards set by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

HFAP is a nonprofit, nationally recognized accreditation program and one of only three authorized by CMS to survey all hospitals and other medical facilities for compliance with the Medicare Conditions of Participation.
