Environmental Integrity Project members protested at U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger’s Joliet office Wednesday, saying Kinzinger is voting to block the EPA from cleaning up coal ash in Illinois, the state with the second highest concentration. An EIP report alleged Joliet ground water has been contaminated by Midwest Generation’s use of the former Lincoln Quarry as a landfill disposal site for coal ash since 1962.
