PLAINFIELD — Some people believe the numerical trifecta of Friday’s date means Nov. 11, 2011 is a lucky day.

People make wedding plans. Women try to rig their pregnancies to end with a child being born that day.

Daniel and Lucy DeVenuto of Plainfield have felt Nov. 11 is lucky for years now, because it was the day their first child was born.

And regardless of the hype surrounding Friday’s unusual date, Daniel DeVenuto Jr. should have one heck of a golden birthday.

The sixth-grader at Heritage Grove Middle School turns 11 on 11/11/11.

“We were excited that he was born; all the babies born that year were millennium babies,” said Daniel’s mother, Lucy DeVenuto. “It didn’t sink in for a while that he’d be 11 on 11/11.”

How does one celebrate such a momentous occasion? With several parties, at least.

His family, which includes his father, Daniel, and younger sister Isabella, 9, will take him out to dinner on his birthday.

The party continues into Saturday, when he’ll host his friends for a video gaming birthday celebration, Lucy said.

Then, sometime before Thanksgiving they’ll have another party with extended family, she said.

Daniel was born early — his due date was Nov. 18, Lucy said. He didn’t make all elevens that day. He was born at 12:15 p.m. Nov. 11, 2000, she said.

“I know it’s his golden birthday. I’m sure there’s got to be a name for turning your age on the date and the year,” Lucy said. “He’s just telling everyone it’s his super golden birthday.”
