Cash Dash program Wednesday in Shorewood

SHOREWOOD — A Cash Dash event, which seeks to connect residents with unclaimed property, will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Shorewood Village Hall, 1 Towne Center Blvd., state Treasurer Dan Rutherford announced.

Cash Dash staff will be on site to help local residents determine if they have unclaimed property. Rutherford will address the Shorewood Rotary at the same location at noon.

The treasurer’s Unclaimed Property Division has $1.5 billion in cash, plus contents from Illinois bank safety deposit boxes that have been abandoned for at least five years.

ROMEOVILLE — State Rep Emily McAsey, D-Lockport, will be joined by representatives from the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for a Grow Your Business workshop at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Romeoville Village Hall, 1050 W. Romeoville Road.
