Lagger appointed to new post at Saint Joseph Medical Center

JOLIET — Lisa Lagger has been appointed chief relations officer for Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center.
Lagger will take up her new duties beginning Monday, fresh from her service to the newly merged Provena Health — Resurrection Health Care system where she led corporate communications initiatives and had previously served as vice president, public relations and marketing, for Provena Health prior to the merger.
Lagger will work to create a unified strategic approach to building enduring positive relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, physicians, patients and family members, vendors and community members.
She will have leadership oversight for marketing, public relations, foundation, mission services and human resources, developing initiatives that advance the medical center’s Catholic identity, image and reputation as a leading provider of quality care and service across the region.
She will serve as a member of Provena Saint Joseph Executive Leadership Team.
“Lisa is an award-winning and experienced leader whose creativity, high energy and exceptional skills as a master communications strategist make her particularly well suited for this role,” Provena President and CEO Beth Hughes said.
Lagger served as public relations and marketing director at Provena Saint Joseph for nine years prior to joining Provena’s System Office in 2005.
Lagger came to Provena in 1996 from the Chicago-based advertising agency, Leo Burnett, following seven years in international public relations for Burnett’s Europe/Middle East/Africa and Asia-Pacific network. Previous to that, she was a senior editor for Marshall Field, and Co.
Lagger began her career as a public relations specialist at St. James Hospital and Health Centers in Chicago Heights.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Illinois State University, and she completed graduate studies in healthcare management at Loyola University, Chicago.
She and her husband Frank reside in New Lenox with their two sons Joseph and Michael.
