A woman was hospitalized Monday afternoon after the car she was driving rolled over onto its roof following a traffic crash in the parking lot of a Naperville shopping center.
Naperville Fire Department paramedics took the unidentified woman to Edward Hospital in Naperville following the crash in the Naperville Crossing shopping district, at the northwest corner of 95th Street and Route 59 on the city’s far southwest side.
The crash occurred about 3:11 p.m. outside the Potbelly Sandwich Works restaurant at 2860 Showplace Drive. It involved a maroon-colored, four door Honda car and a teal-colored, four-door Honda Odyssey minivan.
Fire Capt. Tom Oker said at the scene the crash occurred in the lot only a few yards west of busy Route 59. He said the injured woman was alone in her car at the time, and that the driver of the minivan and the three children who were traveling with her were not injured.
Oker said he did not know how fast either vehicle was traveling or who might have been at fault in the collision. The crash occurred on private property, and as such, Naperville police might not be making arrests or issuing traffic citations in connection with it.
