Alleged pot-growing operation busted

Updated: March 3, 2012 11:36AM

PLAINFIELD — A man was arrested after police reportedly found nearly a pound of marijuana in his house Wednesday morning.

Director Mike Weber said the Cooperative Police Assistance Team executed a search warrant around 7 a.m. at 26301 W. 128th St. to conclude a short-term investigation.

“We received information Peter W. Malone, 52, was selling cannabis and found 500 grams during the search,” Weber said. In addition, police reportedly found 9 grams of synthetic pot at the residence.

Malone was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver.

“The felony arrest will revoke his firearm owner’s identification card so 15 guns were also seized,” Weber said.

Weber said Malone had set up a watering system and grow lamps for pot plants in a bedroom.
