Shorewood man convicted of having child porn on his computer

JOLIET — A Will County jury found a Shorewood man guilty Wednesday of having child pornography on his computer.
James A. Severson, 56, of the 900 block of Mazalin Drive, was taken into custody after Judge Sarah Jones revoked his bond. Severson had defended himself on the witness stand hours earlier, telling jurors he’d never downloaded child pornography.
But prosecutors said Severson had the images on his computer in 2007. A six-month investigation sparked by a suspicious family member led to his arrest in May 2008.
