Police blotter: Resident electrocuted by overhead wire

LEMONT — An autopsy has confirmed a man was electrocuted while trimming a tree Friday morning.

Arkadiusz P. Kowalczyk, 32, was working in his yard when his ladder made contact with an overhead wire. A friend who was working with him was also injured by the current, reports said.

Kowalczyk was taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:01 p.m.

Crimestoppers seeks info on hit-and-run

MORRIS — Crimestoppers of Grundy County is seeking information about a hit-and-run accident in which a pedestrian was injured.

The incident occurred at 2 a.m. March 31 in the parking lot at Honest Abe’s Tap and Grill, 3585 N. Route 47. The vehicle was described as a white- or champagne-colored Chrysler 300.

Call 815-942-9667. Callers may remain anonymous and rewards up to $5,000 are offered for tips that lead to an arrest.

Sheriff looking for clues in burlgary

MINOOKA — The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about al burglary that occurred at 3:45 p.m. April 18 at a residence in the 1900 block of Van Dyke Road.

The offender entered the home through an unlocked back door as the homeowner was inside the residence. The offender fled once he was discovered by the homeowner.

The offender is described as a white male in his late 30s, with shaved head, sunken face, wearing black jeans and a dark T-shirt. He was driving a maroon Dodge truck with a gray lower section.

Jaimie Kinney: 19, of 9 W. Crowley Ave. in Joliet, was arrested by Joliet police and booked into the county jail Friday on charges of aggravated battery and theft.

Larry E. Helms: 33, of 304 W. Marion St. in Joliet, was arrested by Joliet police and booked into the county jail Friday on a charge of driving on a suspended license.

Jeremiah D. Gibson: 34, of 216 Grinton Ave. in Joliet, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Friday on charges of driving on a suspended license and operating an uninsured vehicle.

Michael P. Bocska: 21, of 26317 Mapleview Drive in Plainfield, was arrested by Plainfield police and booked into the county jail Saturday on charges of shoplifting and cannabis possession.

Joseph J. Sempek: 23, of 9731 Brandt Ave. in Oak Lawn, was arrested by Worth police and booked into the jail Saturday on a charge of burglary.

George Rodriguez: 53, of 1462 Sterling Ave. in Joliet, was arrested by Joliet police and booked into the county jail Saturday on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
