JOLIET — Four people were hospitalized after being shot late Sunday.
Police said the attack happened around 11:58 p.m. in the 1400 block of Englewood Avenue.
An ambulance was called for Malikha Mills, 17, who was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox with a wound to the right leg.
Meanwhile three other victims were driven to the hospital by friends.
Katriel J. Walters, 26, had been shot in both legs and Frederick.D. Myers, 20, was struck in the arm, reports said.
Ruben L. Porter, 27, had been shot five or six times in the stomach, back, arm and leg. His injuries were considered “life-threatening” and he was later airlifted to Loyola Hospital in Maywood.
“None of the victims were cooperative with officers, claiming they had been with a large group of people when ‘someone’ started shooting at them,” Chief Mike Trafton said.
