JOLIET — Six young adults were arrested early Friday after allegedly fighting at the Louis Joliet Mall.
Maria C. Martinez, 18, of 1624 E. Washington St.; Raymond Pizarro, 19, of 4832 S. Harding Ave. in Chicago; Juan L. Perez, 19, of 24220 W. Mill Creek Lane in Plainfield; Thaddeus A. Catrejon, 22, of 4710 Peacock Lane in Plainfield; Julio C. Lopez, 19, of 503 Grant Ave.; and a 16-year-old girl were arrested on charges of mob action.
Martinez, Pizarro and Perez were also charged with aggravated battery and Castrejon was charged with resisting arrest.
Police said it appears four teenage girls got into an argument at Panera Bread earlier in the evening and it continued when they saw each other again about 1:30 a.m.
“A fight broke out at the center of the mall and boyfriends got involved. When the melee began over 100 onlookers gathered around the six (combative) subjects,” police said.
While trying to break up the fight, a security guard was elbowed in the face and Martinez allegedly kicked a police officer in the knee.
Five of the suspects were booked into the county jail while the juvenile was released to parental custody.

Nayeli Camargo: 26, of 207 N. Broadway, Joliet, was arrested by Joliet police Tuesday on charges of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended license and no insurance.
Cornelius J. Brown: 22, of 481 Larkspur Drive, Bolingbrook, was arrested by Bolingbrook police Tuesday on charges of home invasion and residential burglary.
Jordan D. Caples: 18, of 212 N. Hickory St., Joliet, was arrested by Joliet police Tuesday on a charge of reckless discharge of a firearm.
Jonathan A. Carter: 23, of 350 Washington St., Joliet; Alphanso D. Carter: 21, of 2200 Oneida St., Joliet; Danielle M. Ho: 18, of 21752 W. Knollwood Drive, Plainfield, and Timothy E. Jones: 26, of 201 Davis St., Joliet, were arrested by Joliet police Tuesday on charges of burglary.
J. Kay Schenk: 54, and Michael C. Schenk: 48, both of 16654 W. 147th Place, Lockport, were arrested by sheriff’s police Tuesday on charges of narcotics delivery and marijuana delivery.
James D. Deal: 28, of 410 Doris Ave., Joliet, was arrested by state police Tuesday on charges of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and driving on a suspended license.
Anthony R. Estepp: 19, of 513 Silver Leaf Drive, Joliet, was arrested by Joliet police Tuesday on a charge of theft.
Felicia A. Price: 17, of 624 Wisconsin Ave., Joliet, was arrested by Joliet police Tuesday on a charge of aggravated battery.
Karen F. Gasser: 51, of 2527 York St., Blue Island, was arrested by Frankfort police Tuesday on a charge of driving on a suspended license.
Frankie M. Scott: 19, of 101 W. Wolpers Road, Crete, was arrested by sheriff’s police Tuesday on a charge of aggravated battery.
Kenya P. Langon: 29, of 2210 S. Bogdan Lane, Joliet, was arrested by sheriff’s police Tuesday on a charge of resisting arrest.
Kevin M. Orr: 30, of 1501 Jewel Lane, Wilmington, was arrested by sheriff’s police Tuesday on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended license and no insurance.
Kyle O. Williams: 21, of 1106 Parkwood Drive, Joliet, was arrested by Joliet police Tuesday on a charge of marijuana delivery.
