PLAINFIELD — Two men were arrested when police allegedly interrupted a marijuana sale.

Officers were called around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday when two suspicious vehicles were reported behind Lily Cache Plaza, Chief John Konopek said.

“Officers found German Ortega, 20, and Guillermo E. Godinez, 18, in one of the cars and smelled cannabis,” Konopek said. “They found a scale and learned the two had been conducting a drug transaction.”

Police reportedly seized 21 grams of pot. Godinez, of 1773 Christopher Court in Romeoville, and Ortega, of 3511 Indian Head Lane in Joliet, were booked into the county jail on charges of delivery of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
