AURORA — Aurora will be the first stop in what 11th Congressional District candidate Juan Thomas is calling his “Listening Tour” sessions.
Thomas said he will be talking to voters about community priorities and issues that concern them, starting with a session from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Aurora Police Department, 1200 E. Indian Trail.
Thomas, former Aurora Township clerk, is one of three candidates in the March 20 Democratic primary for the new 11th Congressional District. The district includes Aurora, Naperville, Plainfield and Joliet.
The other candidates are Bill Foster of Naperville, the former U.S. House member from the 14th Congressional District, and Jim Hickey of Orland Park, Orland Fire Protection District president.
Over the next several weeks, Thomas said he plans to have “Listening Tour” sessions in Plainfield, Joliet, Bolingbrook and Naperville. The full schedule of events can be found on his campaign website, www.juanthomas.com, as details become available.
