JOLIET — Will County Democrats on Monday afternoon named Larry Walsh Jr. to replace state Rep. Jack McGuire, D-Joliet, in the 86th House seat.

McGuire resigned April 6 after running unopposed in the March 20 primary.

Walsh, the son of Will County Executive Larry Walsh and a Jackson Township trustee, will complete McGuire’s term and take his place on the ballot.

Others seeking the post were: Joliet City Councilwoman Jan Quillman, Joliet Junior College Trustee Dan O’Connell and Joliet Township High School Board member Paige Vanderhyden.
