Dinner for JCA trip

JOLIET — Treat the family to dinner at Culver’s restaurant on Feb. 15, and 10 percent of the total order will be donated to Joliet Catholic Academy’s Mission Trip.

If you can’t make it between 5 and 8 p.m. you can stop in any time, either dine-in or drive-through, and tell the order taker you are supporting the JCA Mission Trip.

Culver’s is at Route 59 and Theodore Street across from Walmart.

Pre-prom fashion show

FRANKFORT — The Lincoln-Way North Athletic Boosters have arranged for a number of local dress boutiques, florists and tuxedo establishments to share the latest trends during a fashion show at 1 p.m. Feb. 18 in the school auditorium, 19900 S. Harlem Ave.

There will be gowns, tuxedos, bouquets, boutonnieres and accessories on display from more than a dozen shops.

In addition, local dance groups will perform.

Tickets cost $15 in advance for adults and $5 for students. At the door, tickets are $20 and $10 respectively.

Those interested in attending the pre-show luncheon catered by Café Milan should contact Hill. Tickets for the 11:30 a.m. luncheon cost $25.

The deadline to order tickets to the luncheon is Friday. Order forms can be found on the group’s website: www.lwnab.org

Festivale fundraiser

JOLIET — St. Paul the Apostle School is preparing to host Festivale, the school’s annual fundraiser, on Feb. 18.

The casual night of fun is open to the public and will feature entertainment, a photo booth, silent and live auctions, raffles, dinner and a cash bar.

The school’s gym will be transformed into a New Orleans-style, Mardis Gras atmosphere complete with Southern cooking and Cajun-style music.

Dance music will be provided by a DJ from J.P.W. Productions and Banjo Buddies Dixieland Band. St. Paul music director Ray Kaufman will provide piano dinner music from 5:30-7 p.m. A buffet dinner and desserts will be served from 5:30-8 p.m.

Committee members include Laura Heino and Melissa Papesh, co-committee chairwomen; Juliet Schreiner, silent auction; Jen Kent and Juliet Schreiner, classroom projects; Jen Cantu, Michelle Lowry and Jamie Batis, decorations; and Allie Rios and Tanya Rand, publicity/sponsorships.

Tickets in advance cost $35 or $25 for seniors. Tickets at the door cost $45.

St. Jude dinner dance

NEW LENOX — A St. Jude Parish dinner dance, sponsored by the Parents Club, will be at 6:30 p.m. in the gym, 241 W. Second Ave.

The theme is “Jail House Rock.”

The event is for ages 21 and older. Cocktails (cash bar) begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner from 7-8 p.m. Elvis impersonator Rich Saucedo will entertain from 8:15 to 10 p.m.

Tickets are on sale for $30. Tickets can be purchased through the school office at 815-485-2549.

Special Olympics benefit

MORRIS — Come out for a night of entertainment to benefit Illinois Special Olympics.

The Morris High School faculty will take on the Morris police in a charity basketball game at 7 p.m. Feb. 18 in the school gym.

At halftime, take part in the King of the Free-Throw Line competition finals between Shabbona School, Saratoga School, Immaculate Conception School and Nettle Creek School.

Admission costs $4 for adults and $2 for students and seniors.
