OPENLINE: Stop punishing women

Updated: May 18, 2012 8:03AM

Women are the backbone of this country, yet Republicans choose to kick them down the road. They want women to work and support the children they have, but the Republicans say no to health care for children, no food stamps and no education for these children. They seem to punish women and children whenever they can. Republicans know jobs are scarce but have not passed one jobs bill to change this desperate situation women are in. Young women and children are the future of our country.

Foreign workers hurt U.S.

The misguided policies of Obama and the Democrats are killing jobs. The late Apple chief, Steve Jobs, told Obama it’s much easier to build a factory in China due to Obama’s regulatory access and unnecessary costs. Obama’s administration is expanding the visa program that helps foreign high-tech workers and their spouses take jobs from Americans. Obama’s back-door amnesty allows illegal aliens to take our jobs. Obama’s cap and trade policies in defiance of Congress and restrictions on drilling for oil raise energy costs and kill jobs.

No wonder no one votes

Isn’t it too bad you didn’t get to vote for the Republican nominee? It seems as the Republicans follow the reasoning put forth in the Constitution. The voter is just too dumb to know who should be president, so we are supposed to vote for some anonymous person who will vote as they think right. Remember Gore got over a million more votes than Bush. No wonder turnouts are so low. We just aren’t smart enough to know what’s good for us.

What’s really going on?

Joliet Township Animal Control is not the only division of the township that Dan Vera has been seen as being overly aggressive with power. The Herald-News should look into the Joliet Township Road District, where he started his power grab over two years ago. He implemented a puppet regime. If only Patrick Fitzgerald would ring my doorbell, then the public could see what’s really going on.
