Well said, Tony Harrison, in your letter (No vote for politicians who back gay marriage, March 16). Amen. Whatever happened to the sanctity of marriage?

Kudos to Clooney
George Clooney may not have won the Oscar for his recent role in the movies, but he certainly deserves an Oscar for his commitment to Darfur and the protection of people. He has tried to fight this for five or six years, but nobody seems to be interested. The U.N. should be interested. They should go in and stop this tragedy. Thanks, George.

Slaughtering national anthem not a crime
This is in regard to Bob Randolph’s March 16 OpenLine. He apparently hasn’t heard anything about freedom of speech. He wants to have people locked up over singing the national anthem the wrong way. I don’t care if he’s a Marine or not. Maybe they should lock him up. Maybe he would learn then.

Justice needs to be served
I’m calling to demand that this man get his job back with Animal Control. (“Animal control officer loses job,” March 16). And I’m demanding that Vera, the director and the vet tech all be fired immediately. Justice needs to be served.

For whom will they vote?
A recent commercial criticizing Rick Santorum states he voted, with Hillary Clinton, to give convicted felons the right to vote. Personally, that doesn’t concern me nearly as much as who they’re voting for.

Don’t pass judgement
I’m calling about Fran Fallon still busting on the Republican Party. She writes that Republicans are far from Christian. If you can’t take the bashing or criticism, then you shouldn’t even say it. You’re just constantly calling names and that’s not Christlike. That’s showing judgment. If you read the Bible, you shouldn’t pass judgment on people.
