Y’all come down for some Wild West fun

Updated: June 17, 2012 8:05AM

Saturday — keep the date! Holy Family School in Shorewood will have its blockbuster fundraising event of the year, “Wild West Spring Fest 2012.”

This is the school’s major annual fundraiser, and all proceeds go to the school to offset the price of tuition.

The event starts at 5 p.m. with vittles provided by Duke’s Catering and goes until 11:30 p.m. This is an adult-only event, so please leave the kiddies at home.

Tickets cost $25 per person for which you will get an all-you-can-eat buffet, with a Western flare. The meal includes dessert and coffee and one free drink from the bar.

There will be raffles and games and even a mechanical bull, to try out your cowboy skills. Wear your cowboy attire for a chance to win a door prize. Kick up your heels to our DJ, Leo Raczykowski, better known as “Mr. R” from Walnut Trails School.

Scott Slocum of WJOL radio station will be the master of ceremonies for the evening, and will kick off the live auction at 9 p.m. Live auction items include a set of braces, a trip to Disney World and a White Sox skybox experience. Some of the silent auction items are an autographed Chicago Bulls pennant, premium seating and parking at Christmas Masses at Holy Family Church, Cubs and White Sox tickets, a 46-inch LED TV, a $250 gas card gift certificate, an iPad and much more.

The generosity of sponsors such as Richey Orthodontics, D’Arcy Motors, Lakota Dental, Kuhar Vision and many more businesses, individuals and families, for which there is no room here to mention, truly make this event an exciting finale to our school year. We are extremely grateful to all who have donated.

As I mentioned above, this is the school’s only major fundraiser, and all proceeds go directly to school.

It truly is a fun evening, so y’all please come on down and join us. You’ll be happy you did!
