OpenLine: Sad day for victims

A couple of girls were suspended for posting on Facebook that they wanted to kill another girl. They said it wasn’t fair being suspended because it was just a joke. Their parents also agreed that it was not fair and that it what they had posted was humorous. Wouldn’t it be funny if those girls and the parents were arrested and locked up for making those threats? I guess it must be funny because the police didn’t do anything. What a sad day for the victim.

Godley’s ‘super woman’
I just finished reading the comment by the “wonder woman” from Godley. I was wondering if she teaches a course in jumping over small buildings and running faster than speeding trains. We ought to have more super women around here.

Thanks for MS info
I’d like to thank The Herald-News for the article about multiple sclerosis. There is not enough coverage in the media to raise awareness for MS and the trials we deal with every day. I often see people looking at me thinking I’m drunk. I have elderly people looking at me shaking their heads thinking I shouldn’t need a cane at my young age. A lot of people don’t understand what MS can do to your neurological system.

Fire Grover Norquist
I would like to respond to Ed Ronkowski’s letter of April 27, “The Republicans’ hypocrisy has no bounds.” He talks of Democrats toeing the party line when a Republican must sign a pledge to a lobbyist who tells them how to vote, and voters be damned. Remember Gerald Ford, Ed? He was appointed vice president and served as president before he ever faced voters. Most of these Dems will face the voters in the fall. On election day, smart voters will fire Grover Norquist.

Abolish town government
Why do we need Lockport Township government? It’s overkill — two people doing the same job. We need to abolish all township government.
