With spring around the corner, we must look at the flowers. Spring brings hope and great expectations. With the season of spring comes hope and possibility. People have the opportunity to enjoy the weather and plan for the summer months.
The animals are happy because now they can play in the sun and swim in our lakes and ponds. The attitudes of people change. They become friendlier. People start to cook outdoors and children play outdoors.
The flowers start to look pretty and trees begin blossoming. Springtime brings about a change and people have understanding concerning change.
With springtime just around the corner, maybe the Joliet City Council can consider something that would be beneficial to the people of Joliet. A lot of people visit the parks to see the flowers that blossom in spring. Maybe more flowers can be planted in the parks.
Sometimes, it is vitally important for members of the city council to see the beauty of the city. Joliet has a variety of attractions that can be enjoyed. There are also the many block parties that are a big part of Joliet.
As you visit the city, you’ll see that flowers can be planted throughout to help beautify our city. It will attract visitors during the spring and summer months.
Spring and summer are full of joy, and I hope those responsible for city development have a positive attitude toward the work to beautify our city. The city of Joliet must not let the budget and cutbacks thwart the city from moving forward.
There are a lot of positive things Joliet brings to the table, like Splash Station. This is something positive as spring turns into summer and folks want to splash around and cool off. I’d like the city to consider adding more flower containers at Splash Station.
With global warming, the world seems to be getting hotter, and winter seems to grow shorter and shorter. I’m glad we live in the Midwest. Joliet is at the center of the state. A lot of other folks have bad weather that misses Joliet.
Getting back to the parks, additional flowers will add to the beauty of Nowell Park drawing visitors to what our city has to offer. Perhaps local gardeners can even get together and donate the flowers and manpower to plant them, thus taking pride in their home.
This would be something positive for the city, and something the city council should look into. Maybe flower planting can be something they can put on their next agenda. And how about this … maybe a special day can be designated as “Flower Day.” I think it’s a great idea — something positive.
Yes, let’s do something positive in the city of Joliet. We are the “City of Champions” — we can take the negatives and make them positive. And flowers bring out the best in people.
I just hope people can keep a positive attitude all year long. If we understand and appreciate the beauty, maybe we can be happy for the entire 12 months.
