Letters: Years of fear and blame

Updated: August 25, 2012 6:02AM

In late 2011, I called in a message to OpenLine predicting that in 2012, all we would be reading from Fran Fallon is attacks on Republicans, because Obama and his minions could not run on the president’s record.

Fran Fallon has made me look like a prophet and a genius. Just about every letter or call-in from Fran in 2012 has been a character assassination of a Republican or a criticism of a conservative position. When Democrats are running as far away as they can from Obama and his policies, all you can expect from his minions are Democratic talking points, character assassination and the politics of personal destruction.

This upcoming election will be about the economy, the deficit, and jobs for the folks, things Democrats and their minions never want to talk about.

Republicans will vote for Romney and Democrats will vote for Obama in November. It will be the independent voters who will decide who will be our president.

I feel pretty confident that the independent voter will reject the politics of personal destruction and the character assassinations of Fran Fallon and Democrats.

All of this has me feeling pretty good about the chances of the folks finishing the democratic bloodbath that was begun at the polls two years ago. Not much has changed in the last two years since those midterm elections, as the folks are still angry with all the failed Obama policies. Instead of hope and change, all we’ve seen from this president has been three plus years of fear and blame.

Come on out to Channahon

Senior housing developer, Bill Bolker — who built houses in New Lenox for 30 years — is getting the boot from New Lenox. Well, Mr. Bolker, come on out to Channahon where we need senior housing.

In Channahon, we have a lot of land with streets, water and sewer already put in, and you can buy the land at a good price, from the banks or owners.

A lot of seniors are looking to downsize to a one- or two-bedroom home.

Call our mayor or village board; maybe a deal can be worked out. Our mayor and board should think about this, and maybe give Mr. Bolker a call.

Mr. Bolker puts up nice homes, and Channahon needs housing. Build it and they will come.
