We can’t afford Romney

As news agencies focus on how our eastern seaboard fellow citizens fared with Hurricane Sandy, it is a fine time to examine Mitt Romney’s approach to emergency management.

During the republican debates, Romney said the U.S. just can’t afford FEMA. Romney said that states should have their own emergency management agencies or “even better” (his words), the private sector should handle emergency management and the aftermath.

In his world, you should be happy to pay Disasters Inc. $20 for a bottle of water for your kids, and you will have lots of kids to buy those $20 bottles of water for, because the Republican Party has the Personhood Amendment as part of its official platform.

The Personhood Amendment, supported by Romney and Ryan, would automatically make birth control pills and IUD’s illegal — flat out illegal. So pray for our fellow citizens and think really hard before you cast your ballot for privitatization and no birth control.

Romney for the 1 percent

I want to apologize to everyone who ever wrote a letter to the editor, because I immediately thought these writers were chuckleheads who had nothing better to do with their time than to spout off to the newspaper. Now I have joined your ranks; you may insert your insult now!

Mr. Obama stands on his record, like it or not.

Mr. Romney also has a record — and so does his running mate — Paul Ryan. They both want Medicare vouchers. AARP does not back their plan for seniors. It would be a disaster for many elderly people.

The republican nominee for the presidency will not release all his tax returns. Why?

The republican nominee for the Presidency has his money in the Cayman Islands, Bermuda and Switzerland. Why?

The republican nominee for the presidency pioneered outsourcing of American jobs to China. An estimated 66,000 American were jobs lost since Mr. Romney pioneered this technique at Bain Capital.

Ask the people in Freeport how it feels to have their jobs outsourced to China. Romney has a 51 percent majority holding at Sensata, where this technique is currently taking place. “Blind trust is an old ruse,” Romney told a reporter some years ago in Boston. He went on to say with a blind trust you can still manipulate the company. Where is the help for the American workers?

As Hertzberg wrote in a “New Yorker” article, “Romney had retrofitted himself as the defender of Medicare, the advocate of Wall Street regulation, the scourge of the big banks, the enemy of tax cuts for the rich and the champion of tax relief for the middle class. All these claims are spectacularly False...”.

The Republican nominee for the presidency is a serial liar who looks out for the top 1 percent, and actually thinks that 47 percent of Americans are freeloaders.

Please vote on Election Day; people died for that right.
