Openline: Interstate 80 work appreciated

Updated: February 14, 2012 8:07AM

Kudos for good work on Interstate 80

To all the men and women who worked so hard on the expansion of Interstate 80 from LaGrange Road to Route 30, all I have to say is, you rock. It truly was a treat to see the work done and its progress on a daily basis. The new widened highway is excellent. Thank you for a job well done.

Middle class is being backed into a corner

In the name of saving money and the economy, the Republican Congress is promoting cutting jobs, cutting spending and necessary unemployment benefits. As they back people into a corner, the Congress taunts: Now let’s see what you can do is survive. If the middle class makes any money, the Congress is willing to tax them more, further stifling any growth in the country. The Congress is not willing to help with education. The ruling class will help by taking jobs overseas and asking for more tax breaks for the rich. Then they can log their huge bonuses and profits and say life is good when you are a capitalist.

Corporations should be indicited for fraud

The Supreme Court says that people can go to jail for racketeering and fraud. Corporations which are power companies are exempt from the racketeering laws. When was the last time a corporation or a CEO was indicted or even jailed?
