Almost two decades ago, I foresaw a worldwide conflict with the basis being religion. History has many examples of regional religious wars, like the breakup of India, the Crusades or the Northern Ireland troubles. Hundreds of millions of people have died by the hands of their friends and even relatives. Nice upstanding people turn into blood-thirsty killers over it. Why? Because people can be brainwashed into thinking that someone else is less of a person because they don’t believe exactly the same way. I see the same things happening today. Religion is often used as a reason to kill when nothing else will inflame you.

Online sale of lotto tickets a mistake
About Illinois signing into law that you can buy lotto tickets online: always when governments need to raise money, they try to figure out how to tax the middle class and poor. One of the ways they do that is by increasing the ability to gamble. I think it’s a bad law. I think it taxes the middle class and the poor because rich folks just don’t lose their life savings playing lotto and don’t lose their Social Security checks gambling. The legislature and Quinn made a mistake signing this into law.
