JOLIET — The Joliet Township High School Foundation recently celebrated its 25th anniversary with a special celebration.

The family of the first foundation president, Doug Ziech, was honored with a presentation and plaque.

The foundation was instituted in 1987 to generate alternative sources of revenue to enrich the educational opportunities of district students. It is comprised of local citizens who raise money for scholarships and projects, which would not normally be funded with tax money.

The foundation’s long-term plan is to attract donations and engage in fundraising activities to provide support to students and staff. They seek resources, including those of volunteers and monetary contributions.
