Coach Luke Yaklich said the 6-foot-9 senior has “really made himself into a nice low-post presence. He has improved as much as any kid I’ve ever coached. There’s not a better kid. He wants to do well. He has a lot of pride.’’
How would you describe the season so far?
I think we’re doing well right now. We’re getting better every day, just going out and executing. We’re becoming a team.
How have you improved since last year?
I’ve improved a lot. I can run the floor, play defense. I’m more confident in my game, my offensive game.
What was your best game so far?
It would be between Bolingbrook and T.F. South, both of those games. T.F. South I had a lot of blocks.
Decided on a college?
I haven’t decided. After the season I’m going to take a couple visits, and then decide.
Favorite college team?
UConn. Andre Drummond, I like him.
Favorite NBA player?
Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City). I just like his game. He can do everything. He’s a great scorer, he can shoot the three, play defense.
Who would play you in the movie of your life?
Will Smith. He’s a funny guy. I like him. “Hancock’’ is my favorite movie of his.
What will make this a successful season?
Win the regional and cut down the nets this year for a regional championship. I want to lead the team in points and rebounds and do what I can to help us win.
As told to Tim Tierney
