Baseball

No. 4 Lincoln-Way Central 5, No. 7 Bolingbrook 0: Grant Bartell’s two-run double aided visiting Lincoln-Way Central (12-8, 2-3) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

No. 5 Lockport 1, Sandburg 0: Nick Davito tossed a five-hitter and struck out nine to lead host Lockport (12-8, 3-2) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Tommy Hook scored on Dan Sullivan’s flyout in the fifth inning.

Stagg 8, No. 6 Lincoln-Way West 5: Visiting Lincoln-Way West (14-8, 2-3) came up short in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

No. 8 Lincoln-Way East 10, Joliet Central 0: Kyle Henderson threw a one-hitter and fanned seven for host Lincoln-Way East (11-7, 3-2) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Jake Hickey and Dylan Pinto each had two RBI for the Griffins in the five-inning game. Mariano Cerda had the lone hit for Joliet Central (7-15, 1-5).

Joliet West 4, Homewood-Flossmoor 2: Matt Koran stroked a two-run homer to key visiting Joliet West (12-10, 4-2) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Jake Herron (4-3) struck out seven in pitching a complete game for the Tigers.

Lemont 8, T.F. South 1: Tyler Jay’s three hits and four RBI were instrumental for host Lemont (11-5, 7-2) in the South Suburban Blue.

Coal City 7, Plano 0: Brandon Tidaback hit a solo homer (3 RBI) and Cody Onsen added a two-run shot for host Coal City (12-10, 5-3) in the Interstate Eight. Brandon Wills (3-3) allowed four hits in pitching a complete game for the Coalers.

Dwight 6, Peotone 3: Ben Trainor smashed a two-run double and Alec Frazier (4-2) struck out 16 in a complete-game effort for visiting Dwight (10-10, 2-7) in the Interstate Eight.

Manteno 6, Reed-Custer 1: Nick Stewart’s sacrifice fly scored Ryan Johnson with the run for host Reed-Custer (6-20, 0-7) in the Interstate Eight.

Softball

No. 1 Minooka 1, Marist 0: Mikayla Melone’s seventh-inning double scored Kelsey Smith to spark host Minooka (14-4). Jackie Lilek allowed four hits in pitching a complete game for the Indians.

No. 3 Lockport 9, Bolingbrook 1: Tierney Bottino hit a three-run triple to power visiting Lockport (15-5, 5-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Taylor Weissenhofer (9-3) pitched a five-hitter and struck out 13 for the Porters.

No. 4 Lincoln-Way East 17, Homewood-Flossmoor 2: Alexis Huss (3-for-4, 5 RBI) and Sam Stewart (3-for-5, 4 RBI) each hit two home runs for visiting Lincoln-Way East (15-3, 4-1) in the six-inning SouthWest Suburban Blue game.

Bishop McNamara 4, No. 7 Providence 3: Jessica Jatis (2-for-3, run) connected for a double and two RBI for visiting Providence (12-8, 4-3) in the East Suburban Catholic.

No. 9 Lincoln-Way West 11, Thornwood 1: Kaci Krumreich hit two home runs to propel host Lincoln-Way West (13-7, 4-1) in the five-inning SouthWest Suburban Red game.

Joliet Catholic 7, Marian Catholic 6: Alex Kennedy’s three-run double in the bottom of seventh propelled Joliet Catholic (12-9, 3-2) in the East Suburban Catholic. Claire O’Connor (3 RBI) added an inside-the-park home run for the Angels.

Neuqua Valley 7, Plainfield North 5: Caroline Roberts had a home run and five RBI for visiting Plainfield North (8-11).

Wilmington 7, Herscher 3: Kerri Moore contributed a double and three RBI for visiting Wilmington (13-8, 6-2) in the Interstate Eight.

Coal City 20, Plano 0: Madison Giordano drilled a two-run homer and totaled four RBI to lead host Coal City (13-5, 6-1) in the five-inning Interstate Eight game.

Girls Soccer

Lincoln-Way East 7, Joliet Central 0: Katie Wilson recorded a hat trick and Cristal Kurkowski made five saves in guiding visiting Lincoln-Way East (5-6, 1-2) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Lockport 2, Sandburg 1 (2OTs): Julie Divita scored the winner for visiting Lockport (11-3, 2-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Jessica Liutkus had the other goal for the Porters.

Lincoln-Way West 4, Oak Forest 0: Cori Brennan’s two goals sparked Lincoln-Way West in New Lenox. Kayla Lojas notched the shutout.

Boys Tennis

Lincoln-Way East 6, Joliet Catholic 1: Mike Reda (No. 2 singles) was among the winners for host Lincoln-Way East (11-6).

Girls Track & Field

Plainfield East 70, Plainfield South 52: Deniece Williams won the shot put and discus for host Plainfield East in the Southwest Prairie dual. Mikaela Manson added victories in the high jump and 300-meter low hurdles for the Bengals.
