What’s been your most glorious athletic moment?
Pitching a complete game victory in the sectional vs. Joliet Catholic.
What’s been the most embarrassing?
Hitting five batters in a row three years ago.
After losing three straight games heading into the tournament, what was key to the Warriors’ postseason run?
We focused on playing as a team and we had nothing to lose heading into the postseason. Coach (Jake Zajc) kept us focused on the fundamentals, working together and playing the game with energy. Every day is a new day, and you have to prepare for each game with a positive attitude.
What is your favorite pig-out food?
Pepperoni-and-sausage pizza.
Who is your favorite athlete?
I respect (Florida Marlins pitcher) Mark Buehrle (a former White Sox) because of the type of pitcher he is. He doesn’t have a great fastball, but locates his pitches well. That is why he has success.
Nobody knows …
I played baseball in Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) two years ago. It was a great experience. We played baseball with the local baseball teams in that area.
What’s on your iPod?
Movies, music, games. I’m addicted to the game Temple Run.
What is your favorite movie?
The Bourne series.
As told to Dennis Nelson
