Hagen is a 6-foot-2 senior outside hitter in her third year on the varsity for the Wildcats. She has committed to play at Southern Illinois.
The team lost seven seniors from last year’s squad. Any pressure to step up?
I feel like I do need to step up as a senior. I’ve been on varsity now for three years so it’s my responsibility to be a go-to player this year.
You can improve something about your game with a snap of your finger. What do you pick?
Definitely passing. I work on it so much, and it is just one of those things that doesn’t come easy to me.
What season goals do you have?
We made team goals, and one was to win the Southwest Prairie Conference. We always want to make it as far as we did last year — except with our new team.
What’s something people don’t know about volleyball?
It is a lot harder than it looks. There are a lot of little things that you need to know about the game, It’s a very mental game.
If you could be on a reality show, which one would you pick?
Maybe “The Real World” because all the places they have visited are pretty cool.
Who is your celebrity prom date?
Chris Brown. I like him.
You are on a deserted island and can never run out of one type of food. What do you pick?
Chicken fingers from Portillos.
Favorite sports movie?
“Love and Basketball” is a really cute movie, or “Remember the Titans”.
What will you remember most about Plainfield Central?
Definitely being on the volleyball team. That’s the biggest thing about being at school for me.
