Badertscher, a senior goalkeeper, posted eight shutouts last season and was an All-Southwest Prairie selection. He has one shutout so far in 2012.

What are your goals for this season?

Our team goals are to win conference for the seventh time in a row, keep our streak going. We want to win over 20 games and get as far as we can in the state series. My individual goal is to break the school shutout record. I tied it my sophomore year with 12, so I want 13.

You mentioned the conference winning streak. Is there pressure on you guys to keep that going?

I think so. We know we have the targets on our backs so we have to step it up if we want to keep holding the title.

How long have you been a goalie and what do you like about the position?

Since I was 7 or 8. I like everything involved with being a goalkeeper, like making the saves to win a big game.

What do you think about your team this year?

I think our team is going to be pretty solid. We have a lot of returning players and a lot of new players that have the potential to help us do well throughout the season.

If you could take any celebrity to prom, who would it be?

Megan Fox. She’s good at what she does with movies and stuff.

You’re stranded on a deserted
island and can have an endless supply of one food. What do you pick?

Probably Buffalo wings. I like hot and spicy food.

You have to go on one reality show. What do you choose?

I’m not sure, but definitely not “Jersey Shore.” Any one but that.

Which one of your teammates should have his own reality show?

Billy Ballentine. He’s always on top of everything. He’s a very interesting, cool guy.

What’s on your iPod?

A little of everything, hip hop, rock. I like Linkin Park. That’s what I always get pumped up to.

As told to Steve Millar
