High School Sports Roundup for Sept. 17, 2012

Boys Soccer

Lemont 1, Lincoln-Way North 0: Kyle Hamann scored on an assist from Lukas Sulks for Lemont (9-1-2). Piotor Okron had two saves for the Indians.

Bloom 4, Lincoln-Way West 1: Lincoln-Way West lost the game at Bloom.

Minooka 3, Oswego 2: Mo Esquivel had a hat trick for Minooka (7-4-1) in the Southwest Prairie game.

St. Charles East Invitational

Plainfield South 0, Marmion 0: Tyler Olsen had three saves for South (8-2-2) in a game shortened because of inclement weather.

Girls Volleyball

Somonauk 25-25, Gardner-South Wilmington 23-19: Abby Horrie and Breann Fisher had five kills each for Gardner-South Wilmington (2-8, 2-3) in the River Valley Conference match.

Boys Golf

Plainfield North 163, Plainfield South 174: Greg Rash shot a 39 for North in the Southwest Prairie dual. Isaiah Pina had a 41 for South at Wedgewood.

Beecher triangular: Wilmington (211) finished third behind Beecher (164) and Manteno (188) at Cardinal Creek. Aaron Wilkerson led Wilmington with a 50.

Dwight/Gardner-South Wilmington 164, Gibson City/Melvin Sibley 184: Blake Huseman and Karsen Kopmann both shot 40 at Railside in Gibson City to lead Dwight/Gardner-South Wilmington.

Girls Golf

Sandburg 189, Lincoln-Way West 231: Lincoln-Way West lost the SouthWest Suburban crossover dual at Silver Lake’s North course.

Joliet Township co-op 191, Lockport 191: Joliet’s Angel Robinson earned medalist honors with a 44. Lockport’s Kayla Garritson finished with a 45.

Providence 166, Lemont 177: Medalist Maggie Corso shot a 37 for Providence at Woodruff. Bridgett Lynn shot a 38 for Lemont.

Girls Tennis

Providence 3, Chicago Christian 2: Maggie and Kelly Ruane won first doubles for Providence in the dual.

Lincoln-Way Central 4, Lincoln-Way East 3: Grace Hilgenbrink and Sarah Florek won for Central at first doubles.
