Korte is a senior outside hitter and four-year varsity player.
What season goals do you have?
We finished second in conference last year and I want to be first this year. We went from last to second so we really want that No. 1 spot.
Snap your finger and your game improves. What do you pick?
My defense. I’m kind of short so in club I play defense. In high school, I mostly hit, but once I get to college I’ll mostly play defense.
Fans don’t know that volleyball is:
It’s a very mental game. You need skill, but you have to be mentally tough. Serving is all mental, and you can’t get down on yourself. It’s not just one player out there. It’s a team sport.
Who is your celebrity prom date?
Channing Tatum. Hands down.
You’re on a deserted island and can never run out of one food. What do you pick?
Candy. ... Sour Patch Kids.
What reality show do you want to be on?
Not a dancing one. I would say The Bachelorette. I would be the one in control. I don’t want to be one of the weirdo girls who compete.
Favorite sports movie?
“The Blind Side.” I love football so that was really good.
Your sister, Kaylin, is a freshman on the varsity. What’s the dynamic like?
We get along really well, which is lucky, but I joke that I taught her everything she knows.
What will you remember most about Morris?
I love playing volleyball. Last year, the gym was full for our games. Freshman year I was on varsity and there was 10 people in the gym. It’s loud and almost the whole town is there now.
As told to Tim O’Brien
