Plainfield Central senior running back Jordan Ellingwood is an old-school back who likes to ram through opposing defensive lines. Ellingwood and backfield teammates Gino Giarratano and Tyler Erdman are doing the bulk of the rushing and scoring for the Wildcats this season. The 5-foot-10, 210-pound Ellingwood also sees some rotations at defensive end. Off the field,
Ellingwood is a quiet leader who isn’t one for bravado.

Where are you going to go to college?

It’s to be decided and I have a list but I don’t know what I’m going to end up doing yet.

What do you want to study?

Criminal law. I’ve always wanted to do that because some of my family members have been in the field.

Do you play any other sports?

I wrestle, and I’ve done both since I was 4. I like football better and I plan on taking it to the next level.

If you could take anyone to prom, who would it be?

I honestly don’t know. There are too many people to decide from.

What are the stories you’re going to tell about your coaches in 10 years?

The things they used to say and how they’d make fun of people, just bringing back memories. Just to mess with us, one of our coaches says, “I’m going to trade you for the dog and shoot the dog.”

If you could be on any reality show, what would it be?

Probably “Survivor” or something like that. I haven’t seen it but I’ve seen the stuff they do and I think I could do it.

If you could run Plainfield Central for a day, what would you change?

Everything. We wouldn’t do anything, and it would be a free-for-all — all day everyday.
