Brakauskas is a senior setter and has committed to Miami (Ohio) to play volleyball.

Why Miami (Ohio)?

I visited the school and absolutely loved it. The other thing I liked is that they go abroad. My junior year we will travel and play volleyball in Europe.

Goals the rest of the way?

We’re so motivated to win state in 3A now. We know Joliet Catholic, who we lost to, and (Wheaton) St. Francis are there, but we just can’t wait for the playoffs.

Who is your dream state final opponent?

Marist, because I play with a lot of their girls on club. That would be a great game.

You play as a setter, but with the 6-2 offense the team runs you hit, too. What is more fun?

Hitting is always the most fun, but setting is my passion. I’d much rather choose setting.

Favorite Halloween candy?

I like Reese’s. Anything Reese’s.

All-time best Halloween costume?

I have to say Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. My brother always dressed up as them, and I always wanted to be like him. I was Michelangelo, of course. I love the Turtles.

Who is your celebrity prom date?

I love Leonardo DiCaprio, even though he is a little bit older. I still think of him in Titanic.

You’re on a deserted island and can never run out of one food. What do you pick?

To be honest, I like sushi the best.

What will you remember most about Providence?

I’ll always look back to our game last year against Benet. We beat them, and the lights even went out in the second game. It was just a crazy game.

As told to Tim O’Brien
