Maria Brown, of Lincoln-Way Central, is this week’s Herald-News Girls Volleyball Player of the Week,
A junior outside hitter, Brown had 20 kills, 16 digs, seven blocks, four service aces and two assists to help the Knights defeat Lincoln-Way North and two-seed Marist in winning the Class 4A Lincoln-Way North Regional. In a three-set upset of Marist in the title match, Brown had 12 kills and eight key digs.
