Javier Montalvo, of Lincoln-Way West, is this week’s Herald-News Football Player of the Week.
Montalvo, a running back, rushed for 193 yards on 18 carries and scored two touchdowns in the Warriors 35-0 victory over Rochelle in a first-round Class 5A playoff game Friday night. Montalvo wasn’t a starter until Week 6, when the Warriors were at .500, but he was called up and stayed in the lineup.
