Girls Basketball

No. 4 Plainfield East 73, West Aurora 62: Faith Suggs scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds for host Plainfield East (1-0). Nikia Edom added 18 points and seven rebounds for the Bengals.

Mother McAuley 50, No. 5 Providence 30: Samantha Rohrer scored eight points for host Providence (0-1).

Bishop McNamara 68, No. 10 Peotone 45: Brittney Campione poured in 17 points for host Peotone (1-1).

Hinsdale South 42, Lemont 32: Kelsey Motto netted 10 points for host Lemont (0-1).

IMSA/Aurora Christian Tournament

Yorkville 43, Plainfield South 27: Lindsey Schlichting’s 11 points lifted Yorkville in the season debut for both squads.

Pontiac Tournament

No. 1 Bolingbrook 67, Ottawa 33: Bolingbrook (2-0) prevailed in the first-round game.

Boys Basketball

Romeoville Christian 49, Jordan Baptist 27: Scott Brennwald had 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists for visiting Romeoville Christian (1-1).

Boys Bowling

Romeoville 3,168, Plainfield North 2,955: Dakota Vostry’s three-game series of 687 propelled Romeoville in the Southwest Prairie. Corey Minchuk added a 288 game and 674 series for the Spartans at Brunswick Zone XL in Romeoville. Eric Maybach had a team-high 627 series for Plainfield North.

Minooka 3,129, Oswego East 2,755: Dylan Pickett’s 242 game aided Minooka in the Southwest Prairie dual at Channahon Lanes.

Bolingbrook 2,089, Lincoln-Way North 1,836: Eric Kramer rolled games of 202 and 259 to guide Bolingbrook in the SouthWest Suburban crossover at AMF Bolingbrook Lanes.

Lemont 1,719, Oak Forest 1,639: Ben Stech had a 247 game and 472 series for Lemont in the South Suburban Blue meet at Oak Forest Bowl.

Lincoln-Way East 1,867, Lincoln-Way Central 1,757: Brandon Nice recorded a 221 game and 394 series to lead Lincoln-Way East in the SouthWest Suburban crossover at Thunder Bowl.

Women’s Basketball

Joliet Junior College 68, Prairie State 64: Natrianna Pates had 24 points, six rebounds and four steals to lead visiting Joliet Junior College (1-3).
