Boys Basketball

Coal City Tournament

St. Bede 47, No. 6 Morris 45: Austin Patterson scored 22 points for Morris in its season opener.

Coal City 55, Gardner-So. Wilmington 28: Nick Peters totaled 21 points for Coal City (1-0).

Interstate Classic

Peotone 49, Grant Park 34: Brady White netted 19 points for Peotone (2-0).

Lincoln-Way North Tournament

Lincoln-Way East 37, Lincoln-Way Central 30: Jon Junkroski’s game-high 13 points keyed Lincoln-Way East (2-0). In the other game, Lincoln-Way West fell to Lincoln-Way North 78-44.

Route 17 Classic

Dwight 67, Leland-Earlville co-op 40: Owen Pulver netted 13 points to lead host Dwight (1-0).

Wilmington 47, Christ the King Jesuit 42: Dan O’Leary’s 22 points paced Wilmington (1-0) at Dwight.

Girls Basketball

Beecher Tournament

No. 10 Peotone 42, Shepard 18: Peotone rolled in the championship.

Benet/Naperville Central Tournament

No. 5 Providence 62, Oswego East 48: Alyssa Jurges totaled 12 points for Providence.

Lexington Tournament

Gardner-So. Wilmington 46, Peoria Heights 44 (2 OTs): Chelsea Schultz scored 12 points for Gardner-South Wilmington.

Lincoln-Way Central Tournament

Plainfield North 59, Chicago Christian 20: Taylor Willhalm scored 19 points as Plainfield North (3-0) won the title. Caitlyn O’Boye added 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Tigers. In the other game, Lincoln-Way West tipped Lincoln-Way Central 55-51.

Boys Bowling

Romeoville 3,391, Oswego East 2,971: Romeoville’s Dakota Vostry had the top game (279) and three-game series (790) in the Southwest Prairie.

Oswego 3,198, Plainfield Central: Charlie Rife posted a 266 game and 637 series for Plainfield Central in the Southwest Prairie.

Joliet West 2,018, Lincoln-Way North 1,930: Mickey Shanahan had a two-game series of 432 to lead Joliet West in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.

Bolingbrook 1,998, Andrew 1,992: Jay Zulfer contributed a 427 series to propel Bolingbrook in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.

Girls Bowling

Andrew 2,059, Lockport 2,036: Megan Szczepanski recorded a 254 game and 479 series over two games for Lockport in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.

Lemont 1,666, Oak Lawn 1,580: Lemont’s Rachel Margalus led all bowlers with a 412 series in the South Suburban crossover.

Lincoln-Way East 1,677, Lincoln-Way Central 1,581: Melissa Schobel provided a 234 game and 402 series for Lincoln-Way East in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.

Bolingbrook 1,607, Lincoln-Way North 1,508: Felicia Montecinos posted a 382 series to lead Bolingbrook in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.

Wrestling

Lincoln-Way West 36, Yorkville 17: Cody Pedigo (160 pounds) and Kyle Plekavic (195) won by fall for host Lincoln-Way West.

Bloom triangular: Trayvon Zabala (120) won twice as Joliet Central topped Thornton 62-13 and Bloom 36-35.

Women’s Basketball

St. Francis 65, Calumet (Ind.) 56: Katie Gonnering had 23 points and 13 rebounds for host St. Francis (3-3, 3-2) in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Elgin 66, Joliet Junior College 53: Natrianna Pates scored a team-high 18 points for Joliet Junior College (1-4).
