Girls Basketball
No. 5 Coal City 60, Manteno 22: Donjeta Shabani poured in 13 points for host Coal City (5-1) in its Interstate Eight opener.
Plano 61, Reed-Custer 38: Caitlyn Welch contributed 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead visiting Reed-Custer (1-3, 0-1) in the Interstate Eight.
St. Anne 64, Gardner-South Wilmington 44: Chelsea Schultz scored 29 points to pace visiting Gardner-South Wilmington (2-4, 0-1) in the River Valley.
Peotone 33, Herscher 23: Brittney Campione posted nine points and seven steals for host Peotone (5-3, 1-0) in the Interstate Eight. Kayla Paeth added eight points for the Blue Devils.
