Girls Basketball

No. 4 Lincoln-Way East 50, Sandburg 46: Meaghan McMahon (13 points) and Kara Krolicki (10) were the primary scorers for host Lincoln-Way East (4-1, 1-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

No. 5 Coal City 50, Wilmington 22: Emily Halliday had 11 points and 12 rebounds to guide visiting Coal City (6-1, 2-0) in the Interstate Eight.

Seneca 41, No. 7 Peotone 36: Anna Baker had 13 points to lead host Seneca (4-1) in the Interstate Eight. Peotone fell to 5-4.

Lemont 43, Shepard 36: Kelsey Motto recorded 15 points and Courtney Toth added 10 to propel visiting Lemont (4-3, 1-0) in the South Suburban crossover.

Beecher 56, Gardner-South Wilmington 40: Chelsea Schultz scored a team-high 14 points for host Gardner-South Wilmington (2-5, 0-2) in the River Valley.

Boys Basketball

Plainfield East 57, Oswego East 44: Roger Tating netted 16 points and Aaron Jordan added 13 to aid visiting Plainfield East (2-3) in its Southwest Prairie opener.

Aurora Christian Tournament

Montini 63, Joliet Catholic 39: Jalen Jackson scored 10 points to lead Joliet Catholic (0-7).

Boys Bowling

Joliet West 2,197, Andrew 2,128: Joliet West’s Kelsey Wilson led all bowlers with a 268 game and 505 series in the SouthWest Suburban crossover at Town & Country Lanes.

Lincoln-Way Central 1,859, Joliet Central 1,717: Seth Gajdorus chalked up games of 208 and 202 to guide Lincoln-Way Central in the SouthWest Suburban crossover at Crest Hill Lanes.

Girls Bowling

Oswego 2,665, Plainfield Central 2,349: Sydnee Oesterle’s 223 game and 521 series covering three games led Plainfield Central in the Southwest Prairie meet at Pioneer Lanes.

Oswego East 2,994, Romeoville 2,324: Nicole Jeffrey had a 598 series for Romeoville in the Southwest Prairie dual at Strike N Spare II.

Lincoln-Way West 1,692, Lincoln-Way East 1,518: Morgan Flaherty had games of 202 and 203 to power Lincoln-Way West in the SouthWest Suburban crossover at Thunder Bowl. Lincoln-Way East’s top bowler was Rachel Tobolaski (353 series).

Wrestling

Homewood-Flossmoor 37, Joliet Central 31: Trayvon Zabala (126 pounds) and Sharod Wilson (195) won by pin for host Joliet Central in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Plainfield Central 38, Plainfield South 28: Clayton Ledbetter (126) and Jordan Ellingwood (195) prevailed by fall for visiting Plainfield Central in the Southwest Prairie. Miguel Silva (106), Danny Saracco (170) and Nate Karas (220) had pins for Plainfield South.

Lincoln-Way West 54, Andrew 14: Trevor Pedigo (106), LeVonte Blackful (145) and Kyle Plekavic (195) were among six winners by pin for host Lincoln-Way West in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Lockport 37, Joliet West 18: Tyler Johnson (182) and Luis Montoya (195) won by fall for visiting Lockport in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Sandburg 45, Lincoln-Way Central 15: Tyler Schneider (152) won by decision for host Lincoln-Way Central in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Lincoln-Way East 37, Bolingbrook 22: Sean Sibley (pin) and Kyle Langenderfer (technical fall) contributed wins for visiting Lincoln-Way East in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Coal City triangular: Casey Brown (126 and 132) and Jake Czaja (145) each won twice by pin as Coal City defeated Clifton Central 48-22 and Illiana Christian 60-21.

Women’s Volleyball

NAIA National Championships

Idaho 25-25-25, St. Francis 18-22-12: Ashley Richards had 20 assists, five kills and five digs as St. Francis (37-9) was eliminated in the final round of pool play in Sioux City, Iowa. Dana Wettergren contributed 10 digs for the Saints and Kate McIlvanie added nine kills.

Women’s Basketball

Kishwaukee 62, Joliet Junior College 38: Briana McCurdy had 16 points and five rebounds to lead host Joliet Junior College (1-5). Alana Warren tacked on 10 points, five rebounds and four steals for the Wolves.
