Kowalski finished fourth in the state last season, averaging 222.2 at the state meet. The junior is the defending SouthWest Suburban Blue champion.
Is there any pressure to live up to what you did last season?
Yeah. I know a lot of people are going to be waiting to see how I do, but I know I can live up to my standards this year.
Do you think the experience from last season will help you this year?
Yeah, definitely. I think it made me a lot more mentally strong. It helped physically, too, to be able to go through 12 games at state.
What are your goals this season?
I feel like I should be able to get back to state and, hopefully, do well again. I feel like our team is a lot stronger than last season and should do very well. It’d be great if we can get to state as a team.
How long have you been bowling?
Since I was about 8 years old.
What’s your high game?
279.
What’s easier: real bowling or Wii bowling?
Real bowling is easier for me. I like it more.
What’s on your iPod?
Everything from country to rap and hip-hop. I don’t really have a favorite. I like everything.
If you could take any celebrity to prom, who would it be?
Channing Tatum, because he’s really sexy.
If you had to go on one reality show, what would it be?
I think I would pick “The Real World.” I’ve always wanted to travel to different places around the world, so it would be fun to move to a new place and live there for a while.
