Williams, a senior forward, is averaging 11 points and 8 rebounds per game this season for the 12-0 Bengals.
What was the biggest difference in last year’s turnaround?
We just played as a team. We ran the plays and did what we had to do to get some wins.
With raised expectations, is the team nervous or excited?
It’s a little of both. We’re excited, but we know there are things that we have to work on to win. We’ll do what we do though.
First impression of Plainfield East coach Missy Mitidiero?
Yeah, she is crazy, but it’s good crazy. She doesn’t give up on a play, and she keeps pushing us and pushing us. She sets high expectations for all of us; I really haven’t had that before. I love how she coaches.
Do you want to keep on playing basketball in college?
I don’t really have a dream school. I’m happy to go wherever I can and keep on playing basketball.
When did you start listening to Christmas music this season?
I really don’t listen to Christmas music much. Maybe a little when you’re cooking Christmas meals.
Favorite Christmas movie?
“Home Alone”. I love that one.
What’s your favorite reality show?
“Bad Girls Club” maybe. I’m not a bad girl but I love the show.
Who is your celebrity prom date?
Maybe Chris Brown.
Favorite sports movie?
“The Blind Side”.
What will you remember most about Plainfield East?
Just the team bonding on the basketball team, being on the bus with the girls, the crazy times, the games, all of it.
As told to Tim O’Brien
