The 6-foot-3 Jordan is among the area’s top 10 leading scorers, averaging more than 15 points per game. The guard also is among the area leaders in free-throw percentage
(76 percent) and three-point shooting percentage (57 percent).
Did they move you up to the varsity last year as a freshman?
Yes, during the playoffs, but I was sitting on the bench. It was different and very overwhelming. I was very excited.
What advice would you give to a young player who is coming up to the varsity?
Just play your game and it will all come to you.
What has been the best part about playing for Plainfield East?
When you’re young, people know that and the attention you get. I’ve gotten contact already from Hampton University, Cal-Poly, UIC and DePaul.
Aside from basketball, do you play any other sports?
No, but I used to play soccer. I stopped in the sixth grade to focus more on basketball.
If you had the ability to play any other sport, what would it be?
Probably football because all my friends keep asking me to play. It just was never my thing. I’d play with my friends at the park, but to get really into it, it wasn’t my thing.
In five or six years, where do you see yourself?
I see myself playing college basketball. Where? I don’t know. Playing in Europe or going to the NBA would be fine with me, but right now I just want to get a college education.
Name an interesting fact about you that people don’t know.
When I was in seventh grade I hit a golf ball 300 yards. I was at a driving range just messing around and I still play a little bit on the side.
