Boys Basketball

Kankakee Tournament

St. Anne 61, Peotone 35: Brady White, Gino Fanello, Donnie Algozine and Adam Slager posted seven points apiece for Peotone (6-5) in the small school bracket.

Marseilles Tournament

Dwight 53, Gardner-South Wilmington 40: Blake Huseman scored a game-best 22 points to boost Dwight (4-8). Kyle Robinson contributed 10 points for Gardner-South Wilmington (0-11).

Reed-Custer 75, Serena 52: Reed-Custer (3-10) prevailed in the consolation quarterfinal.

Pekin Tournament

Plainfield East 55, Hersey 44: Deontre’ Brown netted 16 points and Justin Kubal scored 13 to put Plainfield East (4-4) into the quarterfinal round. Joshua Smith added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Bengals.

Plano Tournament

Belvidere 56, No. 7 Morris 46: Ben Ortiz had 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead Morris (6-4) in the quarterfinal. Jason Matteson chipped in 11 points for the Redskins.

Ottawa 39, No. 8 Seneca 35: Peyton Schrag contributed 10 points and four rebounds for Seneca (11-1) in the quarterfinal.

Mendota 82, No. 10 Wilmington 53: Dan O’Leary scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Wilmington (8-5). Justin Kulpa tacked on 14 points for the Wildcats.

Coal City 58, Indian Creek 46: Nick Peters had 21 points, eight rebounds and five blocked shots to lead Coal City (5-6). Brennen Shetina added 14 points and five rebounds for the Coalers.

State Farm Classic

Huntley 52, Plainfield South 37: Alonzo Garrett tossed in a game-high 15 points for Plainfield South (2-10) in the Class AA consolation quarterfinal at Illinois Wesleyan.

Girls Basketball

Edwardsville Tournament

Jacksonville 51, Minooka 49: Kelly Carnagio provided 11 points for Minooka (5-11).

Teutopolis 36, Minooka 35: Larissa McLemen had a team-best nine points for Minooka in its tournament opener.

Lisle Tournament

Walther Lutheran 48, No. 6 Coal City 35: Donjeta Shabani compiled 12 points and nine rebounds to pace Coal City (11-3) in the quarterfinal.

Hampshire 60, Reed-Custer 23: Morgan Zacharias finished with eight points for Reed-Custer (1-12) in the consolation quarterfinal.

Oswego East Tournament

No. 8 Lemont 45, Plainfield North 44: Kim Jerantowski’s 15 points keyed Lemont (8-5) in the second round. Carlie Corrigan, of Plainfield North (4-7), led all scorers with 19 points.

Joliet Central 53, West Chicago 39: Bernasia Fox had 20 points to lift Joliet Central (3-9).

St. Bede Tournament

Illinois Valley Central 51, No. 9 Seneca 48: Seneca fell to 8-8.

T.F. South Tournament

Thornwood 59, Joliet West 50: Joliet West (3-7) came up short in the second round of pool play.

Boys Bowling

Andrew Invitational: Lincoln-Way West (5,897) finished second at Orland Bowl, where the Baker scoring format was used. The Warriors were led by Josh Glover, who was third with a 625 series over three games.

Girls Bowling

Reavis Invitational: Minooka (5,617) won top honors in the 26-team field at El-Mar Bowl in Bridgeview. The Indians were led by Allison Warwick, who finished fourth with a 1,204 series over six games. Lincoln-Way East’s Rachel Tobolaski (1,199) came in fifth.

Andrew Invitational: Morgan Flaherty (518) took fifth in guiding Lincoln-Way West (4,880) to a third-place showing at Orland Bowl, where teams and individuals competed under the Baker scoring system.

Hockey

Blackhawks Charities Holiday Tournament

Providence 4, Naperville North 2: Rich Yusa’s hat trick enabled Providence (28-6-3) to advance to the quarterfinal at The Edge in Bensenville.

Women’s Basketball

St. Xavier Tournament

St. Francis 70, Viterbo (Wis.) 50: Katie Gonnering scored 18 points and Ashley Teresiak added 12 in leading St. Francis (7-7) in the opening round.
